After enduring the heartbreak of divorce and the overwhelming responsibility of raising a newborn and a one-year-old alone, I found myself grappling with shattered dreams and an uncertain future. I turned to academia, immersing myself in the pursuit of a Ph.D., hoping that achievement would fill the void. But after three years of balancing single motherhood and academic rigor, the ache in my soul remained.
